MICHAEL BRUCE: THE STORY BEHIND THE NUMBER “8”
Michael Bruce was outstanding at the game of lacrosse and played attack for the Bridgewater East Minuteman prior to his injury. He was known for his quick moves, dedication to the game, and his ever-present smile and humor. In his memory, and for the exceptional qualities he showed on and off the field, the Bridgewater-Raritan HS lacrosse team honors one outstanding player each season with the opportunity to wear his coveted #8 jersey. The individual who wears #8 has to be more than just a lacrosse player, but an inspiration to his team and to the entire community.
Michael is also honored every spring by the Lacrosse Alumni of BRHS when they return for the Michael Bruce Memorial Alumni Lacrosse game.
